An order waits for a condition and then trades on its own. On most chains, orders run in the Rex bot and the price is checked about every 20 seconds. A price must be at your level on two checks in a row before the order fires, so a one moment spike cannot set it off. They work with the app closed, and you are told in Telegram when one fires.
On Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, HyperEVM and Robinhood (and on Solana where Flash is switched on), limit, take profit, stop loss, exit plan and DCA orders rest at Flash and fire on Flash's price. Those chains do not offer trailing stops, price alerts or dev sell orders.
Kinds of order
| Order | What it does |
|---|---|
| Limit buy or sell | Trades when the price, or the market cap, reaches the level you set. On Flash chains it is set by price. |
| Take profit | Sells a share of your holding when the price rises to your target. |
| Stop loss | Sells when the price falls to your limit. |
| Trailing stop | Follows the price up and sells if it falls by your set share from its high. |
| DCA | Repeats the same buy on a schedule, at most one buy an hour. |
| Dev sell | On NEAR tokens, sells when the token's dev sells the share you set of what they hold. Telegram offers 25%, 50% or 90% and sells all of yours. |
| Price alert | Tells you when a price is reached. It does not trade. |
Exit plans
An exit plan attaches take profit and stop loss levels to a buy and arms them once it fills. The presets:
- Steady: sell half at +50%, the rest at +100%, stop at -30%.
- Moon: sell a quarter at +100%, half of what is left at +300% and three quarters of what is left at +900%. When the +900% sale happens, your stop moves up to your entry price so the rest cannot sell at a loss. Until then a stop at -50% sells everything.
- Tight: sell half at +25%, the rest at +50%, stop at -15%.
- Custom: on the web, up to 5 exit levels of your own. In the bot, one take profit and one stop loss.
You can also turn on an automatic exit for every buy in Settings.
The Orders list
On the web, Activity shows your orders with tabs for Active, Exit plans, Limits, Needs attention and History. A summary at the top counts active orders, orders fired today and orders that need you. An order that could not run is switched off and shows under Needs attention with the reason, and Rex messages you in Telegram. Needs attention and History show the last 7 days, and the page opens on Needs attention when something is waiting there. In the bot, open /triggers to see and cancel orders. Cancelling on the web asks once and changes nothing else: nothing is sold and nothing is sent.
What can go wrong
- It can fill late, at a worse price within your slippage, or not at all. A fast market can pass your price between two checks.
- A stop loss, trailing stop or take profit that was refused because the price moved past your slippage, or whose swap was refunded, is tried again up to 3 times, 60 seconds apart. Buys, DCA and dev sell are not tried again.
- A stop loss sells with your slippage setting. In a fast fall the price can pass your stop and the sale can fail on price. Raise your slippage if you want stops to fill more often.
- A token with no market stays armed and runs again if trading returns.
- You can have up to 25 open orders. Every exit in an exit plan counts as one. Automatic exits have their own, larger allowance. Orders on Flash chains are not limited this way.
- An order needs the chain's coin in your wallet for the network fee when it runs.
