Bridge

Move money between chains, and what happens if it cannot finish.

The Bridge moves money from one chain to another through a bridge provider. Open Bridge on the web or /bridge in the bot.

Bring money in

  1. Choose where the money comes from and where it lands.
  2. Enter a refund address on the source chain. Use a wallet you control, not an exchange deposit address. If the transfer cannot finish, the money goes back there.
  3. Rex shows a deposit address and a deadline. Send before it closes. The deposit window is 15 minutes. Confirm your quote within 5 minutes, or ask for a new one.
  4. Follow it on the status screen until it lands.

The smallest move is $6, both coming in from an outside wallet and going out of your Rex wallet. Rex will not start a smaller one. A route can ask for slightly more, and the screen says so.

Bridge states

StateWhat it means
Send nowThe address is ready. Send before the deadline.
On its wayYour deposit was seen and the bridge is working.
Part receivedLess than quoted arrived. Send the rest to the same address before the deadline, or what arrived goes back to your wallet.
Coming backThe bridge could not finish and is returning your money. The bot shows this state. On the web the transfer stays on On its way until it has come back.
Came backYour money returned to your refund address. Only the network cost of sending it back was lost.
Landed or DeliveredLanded means your balance went up. Delivered means the bridge says it sent the money but your balance has not shown it yet.
Window closedNo deposit reached the address in time. Do not send anything to it now. Anything that arrives late goes back to your refund address.
Not completed (called Did not finish on the web)The bridge did not settle. Anything sitting at the deposit address goes back to the wallet you sent from. If nothing came back within a day, tap Get help in the bot and send the address. On the web, use Support.

Take money out

Bridging out sends from your Rex wallet to your Rex wallet on another chain, or to an address you type. On the web, Rex sends you a message in Telegram and you tap Confirm there. If a send fails and nothing left your wallet, the screen says Nothing left your wallet. If it may have reached the chain, it says Not confirmed yet, so check your wallet before trying again. If the saved address limit is on, a new outside address waits an hour first.

The bridge fee is built into the amount you receive. Quotes show what arrives.

If a route keeps 1.5% or more of what you send, in route costs and price difference, the review says so with the share. Small moves keep a bigger share than large ones.

The two step route

When no single provider can carry a pair, Rex can send the money in two steps through your own Base wallet. If the second step cannot finish, the money stays in your Base wallet and you can move it from there.
